Who You are Matters

Where am I from?

City of Oaks - Raleigh, North Carolina!! “And if I died in Raleigh, at least I will die free!” - Darius Rucker (my favorite country song - Wagon Wheel)

Where am I going?
I am going to be a business guru and a chef

How will I get there?
Helicopter.

I am like my parents in that I am very sarcastic, analytical, and social.
I am unlike my parents in that I worry about lots of things.

My expectations for myself and my life are set by myself, but honestly are impacted and shaped by what my two older siblings, Laura and Andrew, have done before me. They help me stay on track, even if it might get competitive at times.

I idolize Mia Hamm, who is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion; I met her when I was young and she taught me to love what you do and make sure you are doing things for the right reasons.

I connect with the Macaroni Penguin. It is very social, noisy, and has really cool hair.

A significant encounter with a plant was when I ate a poisonous berry from a bush when I was in the mountains for camp in middle school.

Another time in elementary school, I was adventuring in the woods in the winter and I got trapped in the snow and had to use a tree to escape hypothermia.

  1. I also love Macaroni Penguins. I was obsessed with penguins as a kid. It was always Surfs up, Happy Feet, and animal planet on repeat.

  2. I didn't know you were into cooking but that is so cool! Weirdly enough I also had to use a tree to get out of the snow because I got trapped once.

  3. I resonated a lot with you when you mentioned your older siblings being a huge source of expectation. I, too, have two older siblings and they're also people I gain motivation/inspiration from as well.

  4. I love all the pictures you chose to include. I gotta agree, Macaroni Penguin's hair is really cool. I'm also curious what made you want to pursue becoming a chef?

  7. I also want to be a chef in the future! I plan to go to culinary school after I make some money. And that Macaroni Penguin photo unlocked some nostalgic memories...

  8. I love the movie references! Also the way your expectations are impacted by your older siblings is so real. As the youngest in my family, I know how difficult it can be to find your own path!

  9. Can't wait to eat at your restaurant one day! Would you say the food you like to eat and that you like to cook different or the same?
